India Mutual Funds Model Portfolio – March 2010

There are no changes in the portfolio for this month.  The markets moved up after the budget and the expected market correction did not come.  However, the correction will come and equity exposure could be increased at that time.  The next 3 months are tricky with an aggressive RBI worried about inflation and ready to act. With interest rates going up, short-term debt funds are attractive.

Here are 50 superstar mutual funds (and few ETFs) that you could use to create wealth.  These are the best of the best in India.  These have been hand-picked based on their ability to perform consistently over different periods of time.  Depending on whether you are aggressive, moderate, or conservative investor, you could adjust these portfolios to suit your taste.  The model portfolio has been mapped to spread the risk across asset classes.  The investments have been spread out to no more than 10-12 funds to better manage the risk.
